Musculoskeletal Pain

What is Musculoskeletal Pain

Musculoskeletal ultrasound is extremely effective for assessing soft tissue structures such as muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, and nerves, making it invaluable for diagnosing both acute injuries and chronic pain conditions.

It can identify tendon tears, tendinopathy, muscle strains, ligament sprains, bursitis, and joint effusions with excellent clarity. Ultrasound can also detect nerve swelling or compression, helping diagnose nerve-related symptoms. Because it provides real-time moving imaging, clinicians can assess tissues during motion, which is especially useful for detecting issues like tendon snapping or impingement.

Ultrasound is widely used in sports medicine due to its ability to quickly diagnose soft-tissue injuries and guide targeted treatments. It also assists with guided injections or aspirations, allowing precise treatment directly to the affected area.

Non-invasive, dynamic, and immediate, ultrasound is one of the most versatile tools for investigating musculoskeletal problems.
